How Nomndeni Mdakhi Shaped African Women’s Leadership Narratives Through the Agenda Women Summit

Female-led platforms like Agenda Women, founded by Nomndeni Mdakhi, have proven to be transformative spaces for helping women achieve their full potential. More than just platforms and events, they are catalysts, elevating women’s perspectives in male-dominated spaces, amplifying visibility, and creating meaningful opportunities for collaboration.

These platforms address gender imbalances not through tokenism, but through  reinforcing societal and cultural shifts toward gender-inclusive narratives, leadership norms, and innovation ecosystems.

This is exactly what Nomndeni has done with the Agenda Women Summit and community for seven years.

With the announcement that the 2025 Agenda Women Summit will be the last one, it’s a significant moment of reflection and celebration as Nomndeni steps into the next chapter.

Since launching in 2019, Agenda Women Summit has carved out a distinctive space in the female led platforms landscape. It’s valued for its depth, intention, and the caliber of women it attracts.

“After SEVEN incredible years of stories, connections, and unforgettable moments, this year marks the final AGENDA WOMEN SUMMIT. On 30 August 2025, we gather one last time – to celebrate everything this season has been and to step boldly into what’s next. I am excited to announce what’s next. Thank you for being part of this amazing season,” Nomndeni announced.

The last of the Agenda Women summit will run under the theme, SELF MASTERY. It will explore what it means to lead oneself with clarity, discipline, and emotional integrity, not performing but living in alignment. From habits to values and self-trust; Nomndeni, who believes that the most powerful brand one will ever build is the one rooted in who they truly are calls this the “real brand work”.

In an era where female events can be driven more by profit than purpose, Agenda Women has always stood apart. Nomndeni’s approach is intentional, her mission unwavering, and in return she’s built a community of women equally committed to growth, authenticity, impact and self mastery.

Seven years, biblically regarded as a year of completion marks the closing of this chapter, but not the end of Nomndeni’s influence. Her contribution to advancing African women through connection and empowerment is already part of the African women’s creative and entrepreneurial fabric. We look forward to seeing how she writes the next chapter.
