After a year of collaborating with the organisation, actress and humanitarian, Nomzamo has been announced as the new ambassador for Earth Shot Prize in the year it comes to the African continent for the first time.
The Earthshot Prize is an organisation launched by Prince William and The Royal Foundation with the aim to find game changing innovation, climate creativity and solutions that can help repair our planet.
Each year, the Earth Shot Prize awards 5 best solutions with £1 million to scale up their work.
The Earthshot Prize CEO, Hannah Jones revealed during a live interview with Nomzamo on Instagram that Africa has had so far over 400 nominations with Kenya leading with over 100 nominations and South Africa and Nigeria going neck to neck with around 35 nominations each at the time.
Jones revealed they had impressively received nominations from almost every country on the continent. The Earthshot Prize 2024 week will be hosted in Cape Town, followed by the prestigious Awards ceremony in November. Nomzamo previously attended the 2023 edition in Singapore which Prince and Princess of Wales, actress Lana Condor and Robert Irwin who is also a new ambassador for the organisation also attended.
