Digital-first creators are increasingly becoming the new success recipe for major television networks. Creators are leveraging the audiences they’ve built online to expand their reach beyond social platforms and introducing their content to broader and more diverse demographics.
Pretoria based couple Anna-lize and Simon Menssink went viral at the end of 2023 when they shared the journey renovating a rundown Pretoria penthouse. The series quickly went viral across all major social media platforms with millions of views.
The couple has since finished two more renovations in Pretoria and now they’re coming to television on the second season of Home Channel’s ‘Home Styled’ series. The series which showcases local home design transformations from drab or empty spaces into beautiful, functional, and stylish living areas will feature the duo’s journey to remodelling their now famous penthouse.
The penthouse is also now available on airbnb for Pretoria visitors to experience.
“Our hope with Home Styled is that viewers feel inspired to look at their own homes with fresh eyes. Every space has potential, and sometimes it just takes a little creativity, courage and vision to turn it into something truly special,” said Simon and Anna-lize on the series.
Social media users who’ve enjoyed the series online in one-minute short form clips will now get a chance to enjoy a much fuller, more detailed experience with full episodes on how it all came together. Brand-new episodes will be released weekly, featuring different renovations, home transformations, or interior design projects.
