NIVEA Bets on Lerato Nxumalo and Ntando Duma to Launch Its New Extra Bright Range Ahead of Summer

NIVEA South Africa recently unveiled its new Limited Edition Extra Bright Body Serum range, introducing a skincare-inspired approach to body care that encourages South Africans to treat their bodies with the same care and intention they already give their faces.

The launch marks the arrival of NIVEA’s latest body care innovation, bringing together powerful skincare ingredients and everyday body care in a routine designed to help reveal healthy-looking, radiant skin.

For the first of its kind range for the brand in South Africa, Nivea doubled down on influencer marketing, enlisting actresses and brand influencers Ntando Duma and Lerato Nxumalo as the first ever faces of the Extra Bright Body Serum Range.

Nivea describes Ntando and Lerato’s selection as the faces as one attributed to both their “authentic approach to beauty, confidence and self-expression” which reflects the spirit of the Extra Bright range and the growing movement towards intentional, skincare-inspired body care. If you have followed Lerato and watched her YouTube vlogs and Ntando’s content on social media, then these attributes by Nivea are not surprising.

To celebrate the launch, NIVEA hosted an exclusive media luncheon at Ukko Restaurant in Bryanston, where invited media, content creators and industry guests were introduced to the new range through an immersive brand experience, with Lerato and Ntando at the centre of the spotlight showing their candid reactions to seeing their faces on the products for the first time; that in itself was a viral moment.

With millions of views and thousands in engagement across social media platform, it’s safe to say Nivea’s bet on Ntando and Lerato’s influence has been a success as far as the launch and product awareness is concerned. In a new era where there is a rise of the elusive product and brand faces, this campaign shows how well known, tried and tested faces can still do the job.

The new product itself signals a shift in how consumers think about caring for their skin beyond the neck. As facial skincare routines have evolved, embracing active ingredients like Vitamin C, Niacinamide and Glutathione to target specific skin concerns. Nivea is now bringing those same skincare-inspired principles to body care, making it easier than ever to layer targeted care into an existing daily routine.

The Limited Edition Extra Bright Body Serum range combines three powerful skincare ingredients promising to help improve the appearance of dull-looking skin and uneven tone while delivering healthy-looking, radiant skin in as little as seven days.

The range includes:

  • NIVEA Extra Bright C&A Vitamin Body Serum – For an even skin tone and dewy glow. Formulated with Retinyl Palmitate, Niacinamide and Glycerin, with Vitamin A, it helps reduce the appearance of dark spots while providing moisturisation and UV protection.
  • NIVEA Extra Bright C&E Vitamin Body Serum – For healthy, bright and plump-looking skin. Enriched with Vitamins C and E, Niacinamide and Glycerin, it helps moisturise the skin while supporting a healthy-looking, radiant appearance and providing UV protection.
  • NIVEA Extra Bright C&AHA Skin Renewal – For healthy, bright, radiant and smooth-looking skin. Formulated with AHA, Vitamin C, Glycerin and Shea Butter, it helps exfoliate and smooth the skin while moisturising and providing UV protection.

“For generations, NIVEA has been part of South Africans’ daily body care routines. With Extra Bright, we’re introducing a new layer to that routine by bringing skincare-inspired ingredients into body care in a way that feels simple, effective and accessible,” says Angela Nxumalo, Brand Manager for NIVEA South Africa

“Consumers are increasingly looking for products that do more than moisturise. They want targeted skincare benefits for their bodies too, and this launch reflects that shift. We want people to experience how easy it can be to incorporate body serum into the routines they already know and love.”
