Actress and celebrity influencer, Linda Mtoba recently shared how she navigates brand partnerships to ensure she remains authentic and not sabotage her brand value.
“..Saying no to brands that I feel like don’t align with me is also very important. I won’t speak on products that I don’t believe in, have never used, I don’t trust and I feel like could mislead you. If it does happens best believe I also had no idea that it would. But there’s no point in time where l’d ever mislead the consumers that follow me or people that I influence into believing something that is a fallacy and that’s not true,” Linda shared during an interview on Y FM.
“Everything I use are things that I really do use and that I actually really care about. It’s important that your brand is able to be trustworthy. The moment you start mixing things that don’t mix, your brand loses its value and your trustworthiness ends and after that is done then why are you still influencing because I can’t trust you. You’ve basically have become a retail space where people can just buy you and buy your talent to create content and not things that you actually believe in so l’ve always worked with brands that I believe in that I also believe can better your life as people that are looking at the content and consuming it.”
In a separate interview, the actress and brand ambassador shared candidly how influencing brought more money compared to acting saying, “I will be honest about that; when it comes to the financial part of it, it’s great, and it’s for you as an actor to be out there on screens, TV and things like that, but it is not for financial gain. I earn most of my money from brand work, rather than from acting. The brand work definitely brings home the whole pay.”
