When Kloset Klub officially held the first HIDDEN FASHION KLUB session, a night of fashion, music, and Kulture; it wasn’t just the debut of a new resale platform. It was the unveiling of a movement.
Kloset Klub positions itself not merely as a digital marketplace, but as a creative and cultural ecosystem where fashion, technology, and community intersect. “KLOSET KLUB isn’t just a platform, it’s our culture. A space of creativity, connection and self-expression,” says founder Phumi Koeber, who is passionate about reshaping how people perceive and participate in sustainable fashion.
At its core, Kloset Klub celebrates the power of repurposing, reselling, and reconnecting with fashion in ways that feel authentic. As Phumi puts it, “There’s no kings and queens of sustainability like we are in Africa.” She continues, “Just repurposing and reselling and extending the life of stuff that’s already in your closet or buying stuff that’s second hand…it’s something that’s already within us but now it’s just this term ‘sustainability’ but we’re already doing it.”
The Meaning Behind “Kloset Klub”
For Phumi, the name perfectly encapsulates the spirit of what the brand stands for. “Kloset because closet, we’re a preloved platform and people sell out of their closets. Klub is community, so it’s a community of closets whether they’re listing or relisting and community is too long to type. Klub is easy. And why is it a ‘K’, because K is cool.”
What Sets Kloset Klub Apart
While the resale fashion space is growing rapidly, Kloset Klub is innovating in ways that reflect how people truly engage with fashion online today, visually and interactively.
“We started off as a normal reselling platform but as we went along this journey we got feedback from our users, sellers and buyers that they were looking for certain things that were not available on the market. We launched video, if you look at the attention span that video attracts versus still photos, it’s not a wonder.”
By introducing video listings, Kloset Klub bridges the gap between online browsing and real-world shopping experiences giving buyers a clearer sense of fit, style, and movement.
The Future: AI-Powered Fashion Resale
As the fashion resale space evolves, Phumi and her team are embracing technology and artificial intelligence to make the selling process smarter and faster.
“We are building and we’ll be launching soon… we want empower and give sellers tools to sell faster and for them to be able to upload faster. So there’s a bit of artificial intelligence that we’re bringing into the dashboards. We want them to feel like they have a personal assistance in the store that will [guide them].”
With AI integration, Kloset Klub is reimagining what resale looks like, blending tech innovation with authenticity and a platform where community, creativity, and sustainability coexist beautifully.
